Since 2004
From a single youth side to the town’s football home
Saltmarsh Athletic began in 2004 with one borrowed kit, a borrowed mower and eleven teenagers who just wanted to play. Twenty years on we run boys’, girls’ and senior sides, an academy of more than 300 players, and a ground the whole town is proud of.
What hasn’t changed is the idea we started with: every child who wants to play football should have a team, a coach who knows their name, and a pitch worth playing on.
- 300+ registered players across 18 squads, from under-7s to seniors
- Fully licensed coaching team with safeguarding and first-aid certification
- Community first: free holiday sessions and school partnerships

What we stand for
Values that win on and off the pitch
Trophies gather dust; character doesn’t. These four principles shape every session we run.
Development before results
Young players learn bravely when mistakes are coached, not punished. Minutes matter more than medals.
Every player belongs
Ability, background and postcode never decide who gets a shirt. If you want to play, you play.
Coaches who keep learning
Our staff re-qualify every season and study the modern game together in the analysis room.
A club for the town
Free holiday camps, school visits and open matchdays keep Saltmarsh at the heart of the club.
